The Howe Sound Regatta was a popular summertime celebration in the Gibson area that was held in different locations each year. In this photograph, the Regatta took place in Grantham's Landing with and featured fun games and competitions of all sorts.

A close-up view of businesses along Marine Drive in Gibson's Landing, circa 1930s. Pictured is Central Market Delicatessen, Ogopogo Inn Fish & Chips, and the Elphinstone Co-op Store with its hand-cranked gas pump. This area was one of the commercial hubs in Lower Gibsons, supplying early settlers and summer folks with the essentials.

Robert Donley's first store at Donley's Landing, Pender Habour, was built in 1913, on the harbour side of Beaver Island. In 1915, it was the first school and it served as Pender Harbour's first polling station. Photographed by Robert Donley, c.1913.

A 1922 photo of old Egmont, taken by E.S. Clayton, from across the channel of what is now Egmont's present-day centre. The store on the left was built by Walter Wray in 1916. Pictured are a fish buyer camp on float with a cod boat, as well as First Nation’s cabins along the shoreline. All of Egmont was located here at the time of this photo.

Photographer John Hicks captured Myrtle Armour (later Mrs. John Hicks), in 1910, standing in the snow at the bottom of “Old Road” or “Rocky Road” (now named School Road), the only road up the hill at the time. Gibsons Landing Realty Co. office at upper right. This spot would later become the main intersection in Lower Gibsons.
